Provide technical support and coordination in managing the installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of the PeopleSoft HCM, Financials and PS Enterprise Portal technical environments on an ongoing basis. Monitor the performance of the technical environments for Production and systems development. Apply version upgrades and maintenance to the PeopleSoft systems. Provide technical PeopleSoft system support to the implementation staff. Research, develop and provide technical assistance for PeopleSoft components. Share on-call duties to include serving as initial contact for system issues. Support implementation of new PeopleSoft components going forward.
Architect PeopleSoft environments to ensure reliability, performance, and high availability
Application Server / Tuxedo configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
Web Server configuration, maintenance, and monitoring
Providing environment support to the development team members during testing and deployment cycles
Design and create Disaster Recovery environments
Creating and updating support materials and procedures
Maintains various PeopleSoft application environments for development, testing, QA, Production and Disaster Recovery
Applies updates, maintenance packs, patches and fixes for all environments
Prepares implementation plans for application upgrades and may coordinate rollout
Monitors server performance and recommends changes as needed. May design performance monitoring systems
Lead a team of PeopleSoft Administrators to ensure best practices are utilized and enforced
Works closely with developers, support and QA teams to design and optimize all PeopleSoft environments
Prepares scripts to automate administration tasks
Performs advanced administration activities including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, backup/recovery
Plans and performs server and PeopleSoft upgrades and determines standards for server configuration
Work with the PeopleSoft development teams and functional liaisons to ensure the system is meeting organizational needs
Provide after-hours support for scheduled and emergency maintenance
Frequently communicates with others and must be able to share information effectively
5+ years dedicated PeopleSoft System Administrator role
Experience with PeopleSoft implementations and upgrades
Experience with PeopleTools version 8.52 required. Version 8.53 preferred
Experience supporting PeopleSoft Application version 9.2 required (HR and Finance).
Experience with designing and implementing load balancing for web and application servers
Experience architecting new PeopleSoft environments
Experience supporting Enterprise Portal preferred
Experience with PeopleSoft on Windows and MS SQL Server preferred
Experience with version control software such as Quest STAT or Phire preferred
Communicate frequently with co-workers as well as with managers to discern their needs, and be able to express themselves
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work
Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
