More information about NSF International can be found at nsf.org.DescriptionThe Specialist will create assessments of opportunities for new NSF businesses, working with the internal originators of concepts to objectively flesh out the business idea and model as well as evaluate the potential and the viability of that idea. A successful candidate will have both strong business and market analysis experience.Key Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:•Work with concept originators to take ideas from basic concept to a more structured business model.•Conduct market and financial assessments for proposed concepts and provide objective evaluation and forecasting.•Provide data on cost structure, revenue streams, operational needs, capital expenditures, distribution channels and other factors that would impact the concepts' potential success financially.•Provide data on competitive environment, marketplace dynamics, potential customers, technology disruptors, socialolitical dynamics, and other factors that would impact concepts' potential success from a market perspective.•Determine initial potential ROIs, key risks, upside, and fit with defined assessment metrics.•Collaborate with concept originators to create presentations for senior management.QualificationsJob Requirements Preferences:Experience:•Educational background: Combination of scientific and business education.•Experience in B2B market research and assessment.•Experience in business modeling and financial analysis.•Confidence in developing commercial insights from complex and sometimes ambiguous data.•Ability to convey complex concept assessments in a simple manner.•Track record with innovative and/or entrepreneurial concepts that have the potential to go in a variety of directions.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:•Knowledge of and experience with current and emerging trends and best practices in innovation.•Analytical, assesses the landscape through proven frameworks.
